West Virginia DNR Cards

The Center for Health Ethics and Law is the distribution point for West Virginia Do Not Resuscitate Cards. During the 1993 session, the West Virginia Legislature passed the Do Not Resuscitate Act, HB 2616, now found in the Code of West Virginia at §16-30C-(1-16). The purpose of the Do Not Resuscitate Act is to protect the right of patients to self-determination relating to cardiopulmonary resuscitation, to provide for out-of- hospital DNR Orders, and to give direction to emergency medical services personnel and others with regard to the performance of CPR. If you are a health care professional or represent a health care institution (hospital, nursing home, hospice, or home health care agency) and wish to receive these cards or additional information, please call (877) 209-8086, e-mail lmcmillen@hsc.wvu.edu, or order online at www.wvendoflife.org under the “Information for Health Care Professionals” tab.
